Job Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Logistics & Fulfilment technologist to join YALLO Retail and work with one our coveted clients within the Middle East region solving their transformation challenges

The successful candidate will work with the Retail and Supply chain leadership teams to drive digital transformation across our Logistics & Fulfilment capabilities.

This Business Analyst is expected to:

  • Understand requirements – translate the business needs into technical requirements for execution
  • Drive and deliver transformation – deliver technology change, often partnering with 3rd parties
  • Run and stabilise – ensure solutions are running in ‘business as usual’ and are driving business value

You will ideally have a proven track record of deploying technology led transformation in Logistics & Fulfilment, and will help the group to scale our client's ambitions to provide seamless order tracking, real-time visibility and transport and carrier management solutions.

With senior stakeholders to manage, you must have demonstrated experience of deploying strong leadership skills (engagement, influence and communication) and with a number of initiatives to balance, you will be highly structured and organised in your approach to daily tasks.

 

Key Responsibilities

Your involvement to solve our client's technology challenges will include, but is not limited to: Real-Time Visibility solutions, Order Track & Trace solutions, Transport Management, Carrier Management & Integration, Robotic Automation solutions.

In your role, you will:

  • Fully understand Logistics & Fulfilment strategies, expected outcome, deliverables and value that needs to be generated from technology.
  • Work with client's Logistics & Fulfilment Technology Lead to shape the future technology and solution roadmap for Logistics & Fulfilment, identifying future potential enhancements to products/platforms that will drive business value.
  • Support the business to translate business requirements into technology requirements and recommended new capabilities/enhancements to be added to the backlog.
  • Ensures that Logistics solution requirements are defined, groomed and planned effectively for DevSecOps delivery management.
  • Actively manages the operational activity of external vendors and delivery partners supporting solution design/build activity.
  • Manages the on-budget delivery of solution delivery efforts through close tracking of budget and forecast spend, pro-actively recommending opportunities to maximise the ROI of project budgets.
  • Pro-actively manages and mitigates delivery risks, ensuring prompt escalation and resolution.
  • Ensures the successful management of the service transition process from project to business-as-usual.
  • Work in close partnership with services colleagues to ensure that product issues are within the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), running costs are within plan, and work collaboratively to continually enhance the product quality and avoid 'technical debt' (outdated technical components).


Requirements

Technical Experience

  • Degree Educated, with 8-10 years post graduate work experience working with Supply Chain and Logistics related solutions, preferably in a business facing IT/Digital role.
  • Deep understanding of how Regional and Global Logistics networks operate both for B2B and D2C eCommerce and how technology can support optimization and improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing systems such as Transport Visibility, Carrier Management, Transport Management, eCommerce fulfilment solutions.
  • Experience and appreciation for the Middle East would be preferable but not essential.
  • Experience delivering and managing complex solutions (multi-platform, multi-technology, 3rd parties) end-to-end (e.g., solution integration, data management and effective cutover and release strategies).
  • Experience working with modern integration technologies is preferable (e.g., a good understanding of API design patterns and frameworks, micro services, API gateways, API security etc.).
  • Awareness and understanding of Lean-Agile project management and solution development methodologies and frameworks e.g., Dev Ops and SAFe.
  • Experience in large regional/global organisations using in-sourced and out-sourced IT service providers.


Profile

  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated to plan own work to meet overall goals and objectives.
  • Strong facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills (considering the need for orchestration and organisation of multiple internal parties: business, Tech, Suppliers).
  • Effective communication and relationship management - experience working with business stakeholders across various business functions (considering the need to manage demanding business stakeholders: ability to collaborate but also challenge senior business stakeholders on their requirements).
  • Robust teamwork demonstrated both within and outside the Tech function - Ability to generate trust, build alliances, and orchestrate interdisciplinary matrix teams, with internal and external participants.
  • Awareness and understanding of Lean-Agile project management and solution development methodologies and frameworks e.g. Dev Ops and SAFe.
  • Commercial skills (understand and consider financial implications of proposals) - considering the need to support Tech Procurement with external vendors: needs strong negotiation, commercial awareness and ability to manage supplier relationships.
